The May 24 weekend. When it may look like you can wear shorts, but if you do you’ll freeze. We were invited up the SiL’s cottage for the long weekend. We had mostly good weather. It was a quiet weekend for sure. The clear indicator that we are all middle aged was our fascination with the Merlin Bird ID app. Muskoka is a great area for birds and the app was incredible at identifying them by their songs. *shrug* I think it is interesting to know who is flying around. It seemed to be only about 5-6 different birds. As usual we ate really well and had some good laughs. I think we saw the boys for about 20m during the duration of the weekend. We had a short boat ride too. It was the first for Huno and Snoog who weren’t too sure about this boat thing. They both survived. Huno has become my little buddy since I watched him. Pretty chill weekend.

We had a good game of ball hockey Friday night. It was stupid hot in the gym. Once again our goalie needed to stop as he was overheating. Yours truly took over in net for a bit. I still have the bruise on my arm to prove it. We did win, it was soured a bit by one of the players complaining about how I moved the ball or some such nonsense. I certainly prefer playing with people who exhibit good sportsmanship. The post game whining in something so meaningless is really hard to comprehend and is quite irritating. And he wouldn’t drop it. 🙄 Anyway, due to scheduling we don’t play for two weeks then it is the finals and end of the season.

Jez – Canada is all over the map at the Worlds. Winning today again Czechia but a historically bad loss to, gasp, Norway yesterday in a shootout. The lack of offensive talent was on full display in that game when Canada had over 20m to get a goal. They tied it with under a minute left only to lose in the shootout where we couldn’t buy a save and Norway put our “goal scorers” to shame on their attempts. *SMH* Sure looks like another also ran year at the Worlds. We couldn’t find better players to send? Who is creating these rosters? Is it no longer an honour to wear the jersey?

This process appears to have resolved my isolated BeaconHDs:
-I went ahead and disabled Wireless Meshing (Settings > WiFi), applied changes, then reenabled it, applying changes again.
-If you’re accessing your UDM Console page via wireless (laptop) it’ll boot you off as you briefly lose wireless connectivity. I just reconnected to my SSID after it came back up and regained connectivity to the console page..
-I forgot, then adopted the BeaconHD when it came up. During the ‘Pending Adoption’ process a second BeaconHD came up asking to be adopted. Not sure why two came up when I have only one. After the first one failed adoption (going into an offline state), I went ahead and adopted the second one. It worked!! It is now back online. I deleted the offline one, updated the firmware on the online one and now I’m good to go.
** Remember you can only adopt one BeaconHD at a time.
